Chitradurga is one of the famous Historical Centers of Karnataka State. It is Located in the central part of Karnataka. This city is about 200 Kms away from the capital city Bangalore on National Highway No-04 towards Mumbai. It is a District Head Quarters and connected to Rail and Road routes of all important cities and towns of the Karnataka State. This place is known for Historical and Archeological Monuments of Pre-Historic period. The Magnificent rocks on Chinmuladri Hills, Seven Round Rock Fort built by the famous Palegars who ruled the region during the middle of the last century. The Chandravalli inscriptions of Kadambas period and Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Math have added ancient value to the place.
The College which has well equipped campus located in heart of the city was started during 1993-94 under the Shree Jagadguru Murugharajendra Educational Trust. The trust started the institution with a cherished ambition to impart Legal education which is very important step towards spreading legal awareness and empowered the helpless in the society. The College is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and Recognized by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The College has a Governing Council duly constituted by SJM Educational Trust. Governing council meets regularly twice in the year to review academic and administrative work.
The college has very good infrastructure for the training of tomorrow’s legal professionals befitting its place among one of the renowned places of excellence in Legal Education. The College has spacious staff-rooms, separate Moot Court Hall, Computer Lab, a very well equipped Library with access to various online and offline databases for research for other facilities.
The college has a faculty comprising 09 teaching staff, 08 part-time faculties, 04 Guest faculties, 13 non-teaching staff for smooth functioning of the college. Due to this, our Student result is quite satisfactory and our staff is striving very hard in order to improve the quality of education. The college offers both 5 years BA LL. B and 3 years LL.B course for students who have passed 10+2 and any graduates respectively. Both the course is recognized by the Bar Council of India and Karnataka State Law University Hubballi.
